Eligible Scottish homeowners will receive a £400 voucher towards the cost of replacing their old G-rated unit with a new Energy Saving Trust Recommended energy efficient boiler. Plus, as an extra bonus, we'll give an extra year's free warranty to anyone choosing any new Glow-worm Ultracom2, Ultracom hxi, Flexicom or Ultrapower boiler under the scheme.

How to claim your voucher with the
Boiler Scrappage Scheme

  1. When you're sure you have a G-rated boiler, the next step is to obtain a quote from a Gas Safe registered installer -
    you can find a Glow-worm installer in your area here.
  2. You'll need your installer information when you register for your voucher online at the Energy Saving Trust website or call the
    ACT ON CO2 advice line on 0800 512 012.

You'll be asked for these details when you register for the boiler scrappage scheme:

  • Your address
  • Some details of your existing boiler
  • The date you received your quote for the new boiler installation
  • The Installation company name
  • Installer accreditation number (e.g. gas safe number)
  • Manufacturer and make of replacement boiler.

It's important that you wait until you have received your voucher before any work starts.

  1. When installation is complete simply claim £400 back by sending your voucher and invoice to the Energy Saving Trust no later than 25th March 2011. Payment will be issued within 25 days of receiving the invoice and voucher.
  2. To claim your additional years warranty simply send a copy of your boiler scrappage scheme voucher and a copy of your installers invoice to Glow-worm.

Things to consider

Vouchers can be redeemed against boilers which are Energy Saving Trust Recommended gas, oil or LPG boilers, Micro CHP units or Microgeneration Certification Scheme-registered biomass boilers and heat pumps. Solar Thermal is also eligible if combined with an eligible boiler replacement. Electric boilers are not eligible.

To protect against fraud, the Energy Saving Trust says all submitted vouchers must contain the customer's and the installer's signature, as well as the Gas Safe/MCS registration number of the installer.
